This U.S.A. blog supports Bob Fiddaman: GSK: GlaxoSmithKline:
Attorneys shut down video and goes after U.K. blogger and activist:Paxil/Seroxat

Bob Fiddaman, author of the UK blog "Seroxat Sufferers-Stand Up and Be Counted" has been taken on by attorneys representing GSK, [GlaxoSmithKline]the makers of Paxil [Seroxat], and of course Lamictal is made by GSK as well. Bob has been taken to task for the video where he featured the GSK logo and a possible defamation of character of Dr. Alistair Benbow.

Interesting that a blog and video would garner such attention, so I say keep up the great work Bob! Because he is exposing truth, and in his comment section in his post,
GSK Lawyers target Seroxat campaigner Bob Fiddaman", a mother of a baby named Manie speaks out, her baby was born with a heart defect. Fiddaman's entry also has a link to Manie's story which is a must read, and then sit back and wonder why the attorneys were brought in by GSK to shut down a benign video, when there are people who have suffered more than "risk outweighs the benefit" from using Seroxat/Paxil.

Another UK blog "It's Quite an Experience" has a post about it and the author has been sending correspondence to the attorneys, in which he says "GSK has received public censure from the regulator for its conduct. I am struck by the incongruence of your client continuing to protest its innocence, in as much as it seeks to accuse those who complain of its conduct of defamation and harassment."-Matthew Holford (found in Fiddaman's comment section)

It's Quite an Experience-Intimidation: a standard tactic? -Matt Holford's blog.

Update:Dr.Aubrey Blumsohn, author of the UK blog, "Scientific Misconduct", speaks out:

"As doctors we sell our services and the products of industry under the banner of science. The leadership of our profession has long colluded with industry to silence those who draw attention to dishonest science. Although much criticism of medicine is ill-founded, many critics strike at the core of what we do. Their questions are about science. Many of those critics are our patients. They question the quality, transparency and honesty of our science, and they do so with good reason. We ignore these patients and these questions at our peril. That such patients should be threatened is a disgrace."-Dr.Aubrey Blumsohn

*Update: Has GSK bitten off more than it can chew? bloggers weigh in

Dr. Aubrey Blumsohn has compiled a comprehensive list of links to blogs that have shown support and solidarity for Bob Fiddaman. Here is a list that GSK should pay close attention to, because some are consumers and have taken or know someone who has taken Paxil, or Seroxat and suffered severe adverse effects. I personally know someone who had an 11 year old son prescribed Paxil in the USA in 1999 and shortly thereafter attempted to jump from a cliff. Bob Fiddaman does not deserve to be intimidated, he deserves to be thanked for speaking out and exposing the truth that consumers demand, and are the last to find out. Here's a tip for all of the pharmaceutical industry CEO's and corporate puppets on strings--we are the patients, the people who know the truth, and we know it because of outcome. These are patient stories and they speak 1000 words, and they are words of truth, and they are words we wish were not having to be told.

WE SPEAK OUT AND SUPPORT BOB FIDDAMAN, SPOKESMAN FOR INTEGRITY, HONESTY AND TRUTH ON BEHALF OF CONSUMERS WORLD WIDE:

            Hey Honey,

Thanks for the plug. I've been speculating on how much A&G really knows (ie, I wonder what brief GSK gave it). I should send them "The Ghost in the Machine," which ought to clue them up, a bit!
