Dr. X one of my favorite blogs

One of my favorite blog authors,Dr.X who writes the Dr.X's Free Associations blog left me a comment today that I need to highlight.

"Life is hard. An unexpected breather is a small miracle."

This really stuck in my mind today as i drove to take my daughter to the money allowance day, and navigating different highways due to flooding and inclement weather, it was frustrating. i kept thinking about this comment, and thought about what it really meant, which is something i have been trying so hard to do, is to appreciate life for what it is right now. as it is. the back pain (from my car skidding on ice and hitting the curb hard-- and brain fog from the temporary pain meds) actually have been beneficial, because i have been able to sleep like a rock, and insomnia preceded that--so the sleep was a miracle from that.

my daughter didn't wash her hair. these things are daily life skills and some days it's hard. it's difficult to look at it all and not want to heave a huge sigh.

so i am sitting here thankful for my life and for the rest i've received and for the people in my life. and yes, the breather has been a good one and much needed Dr.X. Thanks!

Oh hon,

I don't recall the last time I bathed. We have only a club-foot tub, which is fabulous for bathing. I enjoy it when I'm well.

I have to go out for dinner tomorrow night. I'll have to bathe before. Oh, now I remember. I was volunteering in prison on Monday, so I bathed.

I'm quietly losing it. How are you?

You're welcome. The small miracles sustain many of us.
