U.K. teens in court:GSK Cervarix vaccine; GlaxoSmithKline wants U.S. FDA approval

Bob Fiddaman, author of Seroxat Sufferers has kept a diligent watch over the outcome of the U.K. HPV vaccine Cervarix.

In the U.K.

From Fid's article:

"According to the Sunday Express [19th April 2009] a group of teenage girls are suing GlaxoSmithKline over their cervical cancer jab, Cervarix. [See report here]

Only last month, The Daily Mail reported that more than 1,300 schoolgirls have experienced adverse reactions to the controversial cervical cancer jab.

Doctors have reported that girls aged just 12 and 13 have suffered paralysis, convulsions and sight problems after being given the vaccine.

Dozens were described as having pain 'in extremity' while others suffered from nausea, muscle weakness, fever, dizziness and numbness.

Today's news should come as no shock. Last year I highlighted on this blog about the dangers of Cervarix and pointed toward children's websites that were promoting GSK's vaccine."

In the U.S.

GSK makes bid for FDA approval of Cervarix HPV vaccine-fierce pharma

"GlaxoSmithKline has finally filed its last data submission to the FDA for the HPV vaccine Cervarix. And Glaxo is optimistic that a U.S. approval will greatly expand its market for the jab.

"The data submitted to the FDA reaffirm our confidence in the vaccine's safety and efficacy profile," said Barbara Howe, vice president and director of Glaxo's North American Vaccine Development unit."

Cervarix is GSK's version of Merck's Gardasil. Both vaccines are being target marketed for young women, and the vaccines carry great risk of death, convulsions and more. The vaccines have been in the headlines due to mandatory vaccination threats from states and schools for young women, in their teens. The vaccines have not been on the market long enough, in my opinion to warrant any reason to force the injection, in fact the efficacy is questionable and the side effects are too dangerous. (speaking of both Gardasil and Cervarix)

This is a
marketing blitz from pharmaceutical companies, that are in competition for profit, not the health of consumers.

Together, as mental health advocates/campaigners join as a team to get the word out, for the safety and awareness to benefit young women all over the world. This is why we blog.

Cheers,
Fid and thank you.
