wednesday ramble

it's zoo day today, and so far the weather looks like it won't be snowing or raining and i hope it stays that way. sunday's easter dinner at my youngest's place was ham, mac and cheese, yams and collard greens boiled in ham hocks for flavor. i'm not a collard green-boiled-in-bones for flavor kinda person, and especially when bones are still in the greens. i was 13 in my mind when i wanted to yell, "eeew sick!" instead, i asked someone what their favorite food was, and the thought of spaghetti was better than the collard greens. i don't even know if that is collard greens, i think they were. then yesterday i got a call and had to drive there because my daughter has a little spot on her chin she has picked at and they thought it was ring worm. eww again. but she wasn't allowing anyone to get that close to her chin to see it. i did the other day, and knew it wasn't ringworm. i wrote her a note that she had to have someone look at it and to wear a bandaid with some cream on it for at least the scrape. i walked in at their lunch time so yesterday i enjoyed chinese noodles with her for lunch. big mountain of spaghetti with chinese noodle ingredients. then the nurse looked at her chin and agreed, "it's a scrape". got that done so while i was there i said , "may as well go get a donut" and so we did.
