the tips are a little burned from the 100+ temperature, and i made sure to keep it watered in the morning and night. it's down to 85 now so i think we survived the worst part of the heatwave! when you're not used to 106 and used to damp and rain it's a shock and no one has A/C here, unless you're bill gates. spent a lot of time going in and out of stores to keep cool, eating ice cream, drinking frozen mochas and berry smoothies, loaded up an ice chest with coors lite, and have had fans going all day and night. secret is to keep the windows closed until evening temp is equal to the outside temps or i exceed spontaneous combustible levels. lol yes rain would be good now, even i want it back! the walks have gone by the wayside from the heat, but will catch up on those when it's cooler. the stars have been amazing at night and shooting star night (meteor showers) is on aug 12, so make sure to watch the night sky. i do this every year, it's awesome. ive seen a few so far. here we go into the dog days of summer....august!Friday, July 31, 2009

Dearest Stephany,
Such pretty flowers. About an hour ago the heaven's open up, it started raining cats and dogs- and the temperature dropped about ten degrees.
I wish you cooling rains.
