Is Something Not Quite Right With Stan - A Mental Health Blog: Los Angeles Times Reporter Defends Child Abuse of 6 year old schizophrenic
LA Times reporter Shari Roan, in an email exchange with the author of the blog Is Something not quite right with Stan , defends the parental abuse of the 6 year old with schizophrenia, Jani Schofield.
From the email:
"..They are exhausted, broke, heartsick and baffled. Both parents also admit they are in need of psychological counseling themselves due to depression and fatigue." -Shari Roan

There is just no excuse, and to blame it on the child's mental illness is unacceptable. The child was not diagnosed with schizophrenia when the parents, according to the Michael Schofield's blog beat and starved Jani "to break her" and the reporter blames schizophrenia for the parents behavior.
Is there ever a justifiable reason to abuse a child?
