i spent my holiday weekend not grilling, or slaving over hot coals in a fire pit, but did have some fun times, and no flames involved at least not the kind fire trucks are needed for. i took my daughter out on allowance day last week and saturday and sunday. she's doing alright, the heat here topping out at close to 90 degrees caused skippage of the dog park a couple of times-- and trying to convince my daughter to take off that fleece in the heat--ugh, but it's cooled off this evening. yay. went on a walk in the woods and got assaulted by mega-mosquitoes this afternoon and ended up at the dog park in the evening.
how i spent most of my time on the blog-- was spent here reading these strange and bizarre news stories --i mean I am sorry! for thinking the double-murder by a fake hooker is funny, I cannot help myself that has made me laugh. the other stories and the comment section with even more stories are great diversion from reading and writing about so much corruption at Emory University and being pissed that they protect Nemeroff and keep him paid quite nicely, and yet smack down a blogger who works there and doesn't always promote pharma in a Nemeroff-kinda-way, anyway, back to my ramble.
i also had blog author envy when i saw these gorgeous photos and along with a poem, plus the blogger got lots of comments, that's ok, i'm not jealous of comments or anything like that, while i sit here in my little corner in the woods. sniff.
i do have some new readers, and i say "welcome"!
these rambles keep me sane. (it's all subjective at this point the jury is out on that) plus, i write about my daughter because she's the core of my blog, and the fuel to my fire, besides being my hero. in honor of my blog author envy, i will steal one of his photos for this post. :-P

Good to hear you had a nice holiday weekend with your daughter.
Our bbq went into rain delay and we had to have it on Sunday. My daughter was on the verge of a meltdown before the fireworks even started so in order to avert the inevitable, I took her home and left Anastasia and our son to enjoy the display. I'm not a big fan of fireworks, so it didn't bother me so much, but we've been going on over a week now of defiance and refusals. My nerves are worn thin.
