darkness of night

last saturday night, i had just put pajamas on when my cell phone rang. the care facility told me she was missing for 3 hours and the 'boss' said they would not be calling the police for 24 hours. i hung up the phone and dialed 911.my daughter was missing.a vulnerable young woman, who was just discharged from a hospital and was increasingly getting worse.they placed her in extreme and grave danger by allowing 3 hours to pass before calling me, and should have called the police. it is beyond negligent, maybe i dare say reckless endangerment or even inhumane. i was on the phone 45 miles away with police telling them her description, and quickly getting dressed to drive to look for her myself. the fear that runs through your heart and soul is unbearable, you fear the worst. i drove for hours, calls to the police department were frequent. stopping at fast food restaurants and running inside to ask if anyone saw her.
