Every morning my reading on the Internet is a local newspaper, Furious Seasons Philip Dawdy's mental health news blog, The 4th Avenue Blues Andrew's blog, Access Denied Herrad's MS struggle, Psych Survivor 2.0 Mark's blog, and many others that scroll through my daily blogger reader.
I'm very impressed with Mark, and with Andrew. They both discuss their Schizophrenia diagnosis candidly, while sharing stories of their lives.
I always enjoy Mark's photo of the day, which always reminds me to get outside and enjoy nature and the peace and solace it can provide.
I have been enjoying reading Andrew's writings about the relationship with his mother and father, and especially his friend George. Both Andrew and Mark are successfully living with the Schizophrenia diagnosis, and I think it's important for people in conventional society to know that they are wonderful people. I feel clumsy writing it like this, because I feel it defines them with a label. They are interesting people who happen to have this label, and I feel it is important to see them as the same as anyone else, but to learn from their lives and the struggles they do write about at times because of the Schizophrenia. Hope that sounded OK.
I read along with anticipation about Herrad's struggle with super-aggressive MS and how she and her husband Richie have taken on the illness, and not allowed it to separate their love from each other, in fact Richie's devotion to his wife is amazing, and Herrad always is optimistic in spite of being disabled more and more. She recently recovered from a 14 month long pressure wound healing, which caused her to have been bed bound since. She is looking forward to getting outside once her new custom fitted wheelchair arrives.
Enjoy reading the blogs authored by Mark, Andrew and Herrad. They are all very eloquent writers and inspiring too. Enjoy!
