"The SEROQUEL paediatric approval is based on data from four studies. Three of the studies (Study 112, Study 149, and Study 150) evaluated the efficacy and safety of SEROQUEL in the treatment of adolescents with schizophrenia (13-17 years of age) or children and adolescents with bipolar I disorder (10-17 years of age). The fourth study (Study 28) assessed the pharmacokinetic profile of SEROQUEL in children and adolescents. Doses of 400 mg to 800 mg of SEROQUEL were specifically studied in the paediatric program."-press release
WHAT? NOT BASED ON STUDY 15? Study 15, silence was not golden, you got fat for a reason.

As I have discussed on a series of posts on my site, my self-esteem suffered an intense blow when psychiatric medications caused testicular atrophy. The combination drug (Symbyax) that contains fluoxetine and olanzapine states in its package insert that this sort of damage (along with prostate atrophy, which I also suffered,) occurs in laboratory animals on that drug combination. I can't blame quetiapine (Seroquel,) although I took it almost as much as I did olanzapine (Zyprexa.) The drugs are, of course, quite similar. If the any of the atypical antipsychotics have even remote potential to cause sterility, we really need to question why there is such enthusiasm about dispensing them to children (aside from the profit motive, which always generates a lot of zeal, of course.) Is it not a concern that 'mentally ill' children might become infertile? Eugenics, anyone? I have been unable to find follow-up studies looking for this side effect in post-marketing. Maybe I am the only person this happened to, but I doubt it.
Thanks for the comment, Will. Yes, I agree there needs to be a discussion on the children losing ability to conceive--my daughter has permanent damage from Depakote, if she was ever to get well and want kids, her chances are slim to none.

It's a dark day for children today, Zyprexa was also approved--so much for the FDA watching out for children.

Forced to condense what I wanted to say..
Psychiatry has no understanding of what the mind is.... They're all about the DSM and pushing drugs with illusions of what illness is about for the benefit of drug companies... Only the Drug companies know what the drugs are doing and maybe those in higher places continuing eugenics program in the UK and America, Australia I assume is just following lead... they just spend millions in Marketing psuedo-science to the Mental Health organisations doctors and FDA, who hold back so much on dangers of the drugs..
Prolactin is a problem with I assume all anti-psychotics and the 'doctors' should test for it but I think the drugs cause more problems with the endocrine system and does cause sterility as major effect(dersired possibly, but that's top secret)..
Pr-pubescent girls on anti-psych drugs may never get their first period ever.. Boys might have problems with sexual maturity also, but it hasn't been tested, or has it?
I guess not so many report sexual problems or the majority aren't in a relationship or is highly likely to ever be since the drugs effect social skills and ability to form loving relationships( a side effect that isn;t listed or the quacks will blame most problems on the Post-psychotic syndrome or negative symptoms which I believe is mostly invented from drug effects since it is considered Ethics to drug every person exhibiting a psychotic break, they scientifically don't know the difference)...I know respiridone causes testicular atrophy...
I've had untreated Psychosis and recovered with more insight into myself and the universe like a spiritual awakening...(see Mosher -Soteria House, he was ex APA member/ Quakers in the 1800's--- 60%recover and do better long term then with drugs)
Professionals are barely just coming to terms with the fact that the drugs shrink the brain, yet finding it difficult to accept... There was a test done on Monkey Brains on Nueroleptics..Universities with strong ties to drug industry teach a load of bull about mental illness, loads of 'myth' especially the fact that the majority of psychotics recover without drugs! its episodic like the common cold, there is no brain abnormality until the drugs take hold .
. Eugenics came from Darwinism in the UK and America, joined with a few psychiatrist in Nazi Germany they continued on ideas of purifying the race before Hitler got on board..Psychiatry committed the worst crimes. They already planned to sterilize and do cruel experiments on mentally defectives in America before that, Rockefeller is one name eugenics is evident with forced sterilizations of Native American women in the 70's .. .. Part of the NWO depopulation program? where do the mentally ill according to the DSM stand in the eyes of those officials advocating eugenics??
Disgusting they use these drugs on children without proper research including mortality rates neglected... Or maybe it makes sense they don't care and it is just eugenics... Something needs to be done about it, yet governments are infiltrated by the marketing arms of drug companies or organizations behind them.
