my daughter was under the weather today. the chocolate milkshake wasn't touched. she did walk alongside us by and in the dog park. silence. no words the last 3 outings.
--
i noticed her key to the closet for her belongings was not around her neck on the string that usually holds the key to her own personal world.
--
if you cannot speak
you are trapped. and you are at the mercy of tender souls to watch for facial expressions and behaviors and subtle things, such as the lack of listening to music via the headset and the lack of the key to the closet to get to the headset...

i do this for a JOB.
this woman staff just needs to find a different job. period. find something else to get an easy paycheck by the hour, please do not earn money at the expense of people like my daughter.
you have been given a gift of placement among the true gems of society. the most vulnerable, and loving people on this planet. and you patronize the entire group when you said this:
"..why would i brush my hair? i just come here to work".
IF you feel that way, let me tell you, as a result of observing your behavior at work and with us and my daughter, you need to quit your job or be fired.
The woman she said this to was not my daughter, and was within 3 feet of my daughter. while all scrambling to find the closet key, this woman constantly complains to us. she doesn't like filling out the form for the outing which consists of writing her name SPELLED WRONG and a date.
you work with people who are at their most vulnerable place in their existence.
THAT should be the first thing you embrace and then thank God for your paycheck as a result of knowing them. i walked into the room and got the damn door open with the key you couldn't find, and brushed your whining aside like a waste of skin that you are. there is no time for this, ever. and you are what is wrong with this medication based inhumane system, where they hire people like you.

this is the one staff that inspired via rant, the "shoeless joe jackson" post(s) from me and my daughter's advocate. both of us are professionals in this field and i work with autistic teens as well as did my daughter in high school! there is just no tolerance for people who are lazy on the job. i shouldn't know that this woman was over-full from eating too much, and i should not ever hear her talk to a patient (2) about self-care and hygiene taking the backseat to showing up to work as a non-caring individual. if this woman behaved this way in front of visitors, imagine how she works with the patients.
