the soft open petals
held by long green stem
were brilliant and gleaming
all glorious in bloom.
the magnificent radiance
reflected the season.
sharp and swift
as a machete
the bloom was cut.
oh green stem,
where is your petal,
where are your petals.
at my earthy path
say the stem and leaf.
once beholding soft petals
in full bloom now
my earthy path holds the
machete outcome.
winter came and left.
o spring, come again
find the petals strewn
on winter's path
o spring, become autumn
where the petals bloomed in
infinite radiance where
the lovely fragrance
filled the soul.
autumn, was the flower's spring
only to come to life again.
bring the watering can,
shed the tears to its brim.
the stem and leaf weep
in deep pain
for the loss of their bloom.
winter,
arrived after autumn
and left.
the earthy path
beholds the petals
where love
once resided.
exposed for the forest,
the trees and birds as witness,
are the fragments
of the bloom, the brimming
of the watering can tears
and the autumn of spring.
winter took hold
love is never lost
is what the forest told.
i came upon a clearing
one sunny day
a path newly made
with flower petals,
it was a lovely path.
i walked toward it
and embraced it
and watched it bloom
beneath my feet.
soft, and green foliage
and a thousand flower buds,
all opened up at once
the buds wrapped around my heart
around and around
i wept.
for the path held life and love
unknown to me before.
