"washer"

i walked into her room and acted like a mother. i turned the little knob to open the mini-blinds encased inside of the window to allow the view to enter the room. all the while rambling about if she knew she could turn the knob to let light in or just look outside. of course she can do that. but, this is why i said i walked into the room and acted like a mother. she made her bed and gathered up the favorite fleece blanket i gave to her on her birthday while in a different ward, oh so many months ago---at christmas time. she has vocalized about that item when it was missing, and it's the one thing she has kept track of the entire time. "washer", she said as she held the blanket. she came out of her room holding it, and walked to the laundry room, where she started the wash. a staff retrieved the laundry soap for her. this is a big deal, because years ago i had to re-teach her how to use the washing machine, actually several times in the last few years. so there she is , today doing her laundry. these are the posts that people might skim over, kind of like how it is in her world. it is the small victories such as doing laundry, where you pause and take note of where you have come, from a very long mountain climb.

This is great Stepheny I'm so happy Lyndsy has improved so much, and is so doing well. They transferred Jeff from Rose Meadow Garden, to Rose Meadow Farm. The Garden is a larger newer, facility, (13 rooms)and more for respite care. The Farm is a smaller facility, of 11 rooms. More for long term care. I will be going to visit him next week, so I'll let you know how the new place is and how he's doing. Your a good mom Stephany, give yourself a break today, you deserve it. Happy mothers day.
