weekend ramble

we took the dog to my daughter this week again, and it was another great day. the dog loves running through the wildflowers and tall grass at the dog park. it's not a simple task getting to and from the hospital. today is one of those days a person says, 'what a day'. i was stuck in traffic, not feeling well and the car was overheating so i made a decision to call and say 'won't get there today', which is super difficult for me to do. we'll be going to see her this weekend, i'm hard on myself for these things, part of my one day at a time, do your best is all you can do category. the dog got me up at 4:40am. still morning twilight and he wants to play. on the walk this evening, we heard coyotes close by. they sound totally eerie. we wondered if today was the same day the dog woke us up at 5am or so. one of those days.

Stephany, that really must be a conflicted decision to make -- the can't be there today. Glad you've got the awareness to try to take it easy on yourself. Harder to put into practice.

Coyotes up on the plateau? Wow. Didn't know.

Peaceful dog-walk summer days to you.

thanks, yes it was hard, i don't like disappointing her that way. but the traffic was unbearable and jammed, that was a 3 hr round trip to not even get near her. very frustrating.

but, went today, (just got back) and took the dog. the dog park near her is very big--22 acres, so it's super open and free. lots of dogs and open space. then had a picnic. and I talked to her about yesterday, so she knows it was just something we have to deal with at times, and that it was hard for me too.

yes, the last 2 weeks, coyotes for the first time in years...howling, screeching actually. theyve been coming out about 9pm. close by, and owls also. lots of wildlife this year, more rabbits and a lot of birds. have you heard about the mother bear and the 2 cubs? theyve been up here and last i saw in news they were behind the High school down there.

Glad you got down there today.

No I hadn't heard about the bear and cubs. The bears that come into town and act semi-tame are scary to me. They've undoubtedly encountered dog food or trash. Take care on your walks!

Your such a great mom Stephany, don't feel guilty. I just wish I could see my son everyday, or at least every other day. My granddaughter and I plan to go this monday. Once he is done with rehab. my mission is to get him in a nursing home close to home. And I know the state will probably give me more grief over the cost of a nursing home.
