Regina Holliday is a constant source of inspiration for me. Her blog says this about her in the bio:
"Regina Holliday is a DC-based patient rights arts advocate. She is currently at work on a series of paintings and blog posts depicting the need for clarity and transparency in medical records. After the death of her husband, Fred Holliday II, on June 17th 2009, She began a large Mural Titled “73 cents.” This piece can be viewed at 5001 Connecticut Ave. Washington, DC 20008. This piece depicts Holliday family’s nightmare journey through the medical system during Fred’s cancer care. The painting became part of the national healthcare debate and was covered by the BBC, CNN, CBS, AOL, VOA, NPR, The Washington Post and the BMJ."
Regina has an amazing event coming up June 7th, 2011 in Washington, D.C titled The Walking Gallery.
In her words:
"We won’t pound a single nail into the walls to hold the art. This shall be The Walking Gallery. That night dozens of people will walk into the space wearing business jackets or doctor’s lab coats. That alone is not unusual. It would be a daily occurrence in this dual-use space. But these jackets will be works of art. Each one shall be painted with the story of a patient or an element of medical advocacy by me or another artist. These masterpieces will be worn on the backs of government employees, technology gurus, medical professionals, social media activists, CEO’s of companies and artists. It shall be a great meeting of the minds."-Regina Holliday

Here is a slide show that tells her story, watch it and consider contacting her if you have a story or a jacket, or want to participate or go see the Walking Gallery.
