Is psychiatry ever going to catch up with the rest of the world... what most of us already know?

An old expression come to mind:
"Lead, follow, or get out of the way!

Psychiatry is in NO place to lead... So it's timed they either learned to follow or get out the way!

The doctors can not perceive themselves as legal drug dealers.

Lets say for example we have a junky on illegal drugs for 6 months, when he goes into withdrawals, what is the cause? The lack of illegal drugs? He just needs more drugs.
Ask the junky what he needs. Whats he gonna say?

The same thing will happen with legal medications. People reach homeostasis and become habituated to legal drugs after 6 months.

Doctors credit the medication for the improvement over the 6 months, when the improvement was probably due to the passage of time.
